The Project Lead The Way Biomedical Science pathway of North HS sponsored an interactive booth at the recent STEM Expo (Science Fair) held at Ellet HS. Nine Biomed sophomores volunteered their day to set up and staff the booth, which included a forensic crime scene, a fingerprinting station, and a microscope station. Participants could view red blood cell samples of patients with sickle cell disease and compare them to samples with no sickle cells under the microscope. They were also able to examine and document evidence from the crime scene and theorize the fictitious crime that took place, as well as learn how to correctly obtain fingerprints and analyze fingerprints for patterns.
