Our Viking students continue to excel this week!!
18 Biomedical Science and 5 Allied Health students attended the ​SkillsUSA State Championships in Columbus.
The Convention Center was packed with over 4,500 competitors, representing more than 60 Ohio high schools. (More than 30,000 Ohio HS students are SkillsUSA members, the 2nd largest in the nation.)
In the American Spirit contest, the team of
DaVyan Caldwell,
Susmita Rai, and
Sar Ela Be Htoo won the SILVER medal!! They represented 3 different community service projects created by North HS students: the Valor Home Jars of Inspiration, the Recycled School Supplies, and the EpiPens and Anaphylaxis training.
Also, in Medical Math,
Ro Zi Mar placed 6th in the state, and
Chandra Gajmer placed 6th in the Health Occupations Professional Portfolio contest!
The Community Service team of
Hsa Win,
Alejandra Trevino, and
Amari Barnett placed 8th!
Finally,
Alejandra Trevino gave a wonderful performance speaking at the 2018 TEDxAkron event last Saturday. 16 North HS students attended the event, along with
Mrs. Weaver and her husband.
