Shout-outs to the 46 North HS students listed below who created and carried out more than 10 community health service projects to benefit our school and our community! They are part of the HPAC Club, which encourages kids to identify health concerns and create community service projects to positively impact others.
Some of these students worked on their projects 3 times a week during their lunches, and many others stayed after school. Most on this list put in more than 20 hours of community service! Many of them will be recognized at the now-virtual HPAC Scholars Day, which would have been held at John Carroll University this year.
Quick notes: one of the projects resulted in over 200 North kids receiving free, recycled school supplies at the start of March!
Other projects benefited the non-profit Valor Home in Akron, a transitional housing facility for homeless veterans.
And biggest thanks to 18 staff members who allowed three of the seniors (Monisha, Alisha, and Gay Doh Soe) to visit their classes and teach about veterans, homelessness, and inspiration. They gathered over 650 handwritten messages of thanks and hope from our North students to give to the Valor Home vets!! Their adviser is Mrs. Dine.
